Expérimenté, expérimental, instrumental et viscéralement original, ce nouveau trio serpente aux confins d’un jazz farouche et joueur aux orchestrations totalement nouvelles.

Imaginé comme un clin d’œil et un hommage à l’album AKAGERA, sorti en 1980 par le trio Humair, Jeanneau, Texier, ce nouveau trio a bien l’intention de creuser son propre sillon. En 1980, une tête de lionne et une tête de lion en arboraient la pochette, ici une peau zébrée en sera le l’étendard.

Comme leurs illustres aînés, le Trio Akagera puise ses influences dans la

musique africaine (Akagera est le nom d’une réserve naturelle au Rwanda, à la frontière tanzanienne) mais aussi dans le jazz et la musique contemporaine dite répétitive.

Une batterie, un vibraphone et un marimba, un trombone, c’est l’ADN de ce projet canaille crée par David Georgelet, Benoit Lavollée et Stéphane Montigny.
